THE
REEL THING
September 1990
By
the time that most of you get this Reel Thing, summer will be ancient
history. It sure was a short one, wasn't it!
We
have the pleasant chore of welcoming our newest member, North Jory and his
protege, Brad, into our fold. I
am sure that most of you know that North is one of the finest accuracy plug
casters in the world and has been banging at targets almost as long as yours
truly. He will be a big asset to our club and we look forward to his
passing some of his skills on to the rest of us.
The
biggest news for us at the moment is that we finally have located a new home
for the indoor season. Our old
quarters at Samuel Hearn were expropriated from us for a new community
centre and we had quite a battle to find a suitable location elsewhere.
However, after all the smoke has cleared, we will be moving into The
Charles Gordon School gymnasium on October 1.
Our hours will be the same as in the past, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and we
will arrange the fly tying and rod building sessions once we get underway in
October. The address is 25
