many months have passed since you spoke these words

I remember at the time they scared me

for I believed that you believed it

and I did not wish to consider the death of a friend

but time has passed and now you have died

     far too high a price we have paid

may God’s perfect will be done

that in your death others may find their life

and join you before our God in eternal love
