Lest
We Forget
we
sit here ignorant
of
sacrifices made
for
a peace so dearly bought
not
so much as a moment
spared
for
those who spared
nothing
what
luxury
to
be able to forget
what
ought never be forgotten
pray,
God, forgive us
the
careless value
we place upon their blood
How can we ever do enough to honour those
whose sacrifice bought our freedom.
