Tesara for 8

This is my adaptation of Tesara for 8 people. It is as close as possible to the original 10 person version, in order that people who learn this version will be able to learn the full version as easily as possible. As such, it is not choreographicly exciting, but it is meant for when the dance is being learned, but the wrong numbers show up to dance practise.
The Joy and Jealousy website webbed by Eric Praetzel has the reconstruction of the original, 10 person, version of Tesara. It should be consulted for details - this presumes familiarity with the original dance.
This is for 3 couples, and two spare men ("shuttles"), A and B.

Start:  Man A in front, then Couple 1, Couple 2, then Couple 3, and last Man B, facing up the hall.

      Section I (normal)
The Forse Che Si recording has an extra bar of intro.
1 bar of Introduction and 8 Saltarelli, starting Left.

      Section II = Switches
Couples separate with half-bar Meza Ripresa, Men Left, Women Right, then Man A ends bar with a Mezavolta Right.
Man A and Man B do 4 Pive passing right shoulders, ending in each other's places
Couples change places with partners, doing 4 Meza Riprese (each taking a half-bar), Men going Right passing in front of their partners as Women go Left.
Men 1-3 each do a Movimento, one after the other, then Man B does the movimento that would normally be done by Man 4.
Women 3, 2, then 1 each do a Movimento, then Man A does the movimento that would normally be done by the missing woman.
Repeat the section (couples separate, shuttles switch, couples switch, movimenti)

      Section III = Take-ups
Man B grabs an end of the ribbon of Couple 3, and takes them up to the top, forming arches with the ribbons, using step-step-step-close- side-cut 4 times.
Man A and Man B take right hands and switch places with 2 Pive, Man B starting on Left foot, Man A starting on Right.
Man A goes to the bottom with 3 Pive, starting Right, ending with a Mezavolta Right.
Man A takes up Couple 2 to the top, as before.
Man A + B switch as before.

Section IIII = Take-ups with Saltarelli
Man B takes Couple 1 to the top with 3 Saltarelli starting Right, A + B switch with Saltarello Right, and A goes to the bottom with 2 Salt.
Man A, finding no one who has not already been taken up, returns up the middle alone, then Man A + B switch as before, so Man B is back to the bottom.

      Section V = Bridges
Outside Couples (Couple 1 and Couple 3) switch places with their partner, using a double, as they grab an end of each other's ribbon, and form an arch with them.
Man A goes under Couple 1's arch, Man B under Couple 3's arch, with a double.
Inside Couple (only Couple 2) switch places with a double, as they grab an end of each other's ribbon, and form an arch with them.
Man A +B both pass under Couple 2's arch, with a double.
Inside Couple (only Couple 2) switch places with a double, still forming an arch with the ribbons.
(Man A +B, seeing no one move in front of them, stay still.)
Outside Couples (Couple 1 and Couple 3) switch places with a double, still forming an arch with the ribbons.
Man A goes under Couple 3's arch, Man B under Couple 1's arch, with a double.

      Section VI
Men A and Man B do 4 Pive, starting Left, passing right shoulders, going under the ribbons back to their places, ending with a Mezavolta Right. Couples then drop their partners' ribbons.
Everyone turns to face counterclockwise around the oval.

      Section VII = Hey
Man A, Man B, the last man in the men's line (Man 1, this time) and the last woman in the woman's line (Woman 3, this time ) do 4 Saltarelli, starting Left, each moving counterclockwise to a position exactly halfway around the oval
Repeat (this time with Man A, Man B, Man 2 and Woman 3)
Repeat (this time with Man A, Man B, Man 3 and Woman 1)
Repeat (this time with only Man A + Man B)

      Section VIII
Do Movimenti, as in Section II
All face in (or wherever) and reverence.
