Laurie Evan Fraser

Laurie Evan Fraser was born in Troy, New York. She came to Toronto to further her music studies in voice and piano at the "Royal Conservatory of Music". After graduating from the Conservatory, and several years of teaching experience at the "University Settlement Music School" where she taught voice, piano, theory and directed a choir, Mrs. Fraser joined the faculty of the "Royal Conservatory of Music". She has considerable experience as a piano and vocal soloist, organist, chamber musician, accompanist, choir director and adjudicator. In 1989, she was a Chair of a continental conference of church musicians held in Toronto. Currently, she is a member of the "Royal Conservatory of Music Affiliate Teacher Network" and teaches piano, voice and theory. She teaches and conducts several choirs at the "Institute of Child Study" and in January of 1994, she founded the "Upper Canada Choristers", a community choir. Other activites include adjudication for the "Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association" as well as music festivals, composing, and she regularly leads workshops on various aspects of music.

 

Jennifer Knelman

Jennifer Knelman holds a Teachers' "ACRT", a "Bachelor of Music" degree in Performance from the University of Toronto, and a "Master of Music" degree ("Literature and Performance") from the "University of Western Ontario".

Her early musical training was from her mother, Fay Pullen, with whome she was studying when she received two RCM silver medals, then she continued on scholarship at the "Royal Conservatory of Music". During the following years at University, she studied advanced theory, including "Schenkerian analysis", and "pitch-class set theory", while majoring in performance. Her principal teacher was James Anagnoson, and she has also studied with Ronald Turini.

Jennifer has been a piano examiner for the "Royal Conservatory of Music" since 1984. She has also enjoyed years of Festival adjudication, lecturing for "ORMTA" ("Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association") groups and conducting master classes for students of all levels, in addition to her own private teaching.
