Fioretto

A dance for one couple by Domenico, which has no music in the sources.

Steps: saltarello (in 6), sempio (in 6), doppio (in 6, and also in 4 galloped (see below)), movimento, ripresa , (in 4, galloped - see below) piva, mezavolta, volta del gioioso

I do the galloped steps as follows:
Doppio Gallopado Left:
      1 = step left,       and = step right under left heel,
      2 = step left,       and = step right under left heel,
      3 = step left,       and = step right under left heel,
      4 = step left.
Ripresa Gallopada Left:
      1 = step sideways to the left,       and = step right under left heel,
      2 = step left sideways,       and = step right under left heel,
      3 = step left sideways,       and = step right under left heel,
      4 = step left sideways.

Start:  Man on the left, Woman on the right, side by side, holding hands, facing up the hall.

      Section I (8 bars in saltarello)
12 Saltarelli, starting Left.

      Section II (8 bars in quadernaria)
Man Doppio Gallopado Left, ending with Mezavolta, returns with Doppio Gallopado Right,
Woman the same, both ending facing each other.
Man Ripresa Gallopada Left, moving up the hall (sideways), returns with Ripresa Gallopada Right,
Woman the same, (but she moves down the hall and then up).

      Section III (in piva x 2)
Man Movimento, Woman responds, 4 Pive doing a right hand turn,
Woman Movimento, Man responds, 4 Pive in a left hand turn.

      Section IIII (in Bassadanza)
Man leaves with Sempii Left and Right, Doppii Left, Right, and Left,
Woman the same,
Man Movimento, Woman responds,
Volta del Gioioso, such that the Woman ends in the lead.
Since we lead from the left side, this last Volta del Gioioso is done with the man doing very small sempii moving only towards the back of the hall, and then doing a large ripresa right, while the Woman does her 2 sempii travelling as far as she can to the left (and forward, so as to not walk on him), and then does her ripresa very small.

Repeat dance, with the woman leading.
