What is Hate Crime?
A criminal offence committed against a person or property that is based upon the victim's race, national or ethnic origin, language, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, or any other similar factor.
Hate Propogranda
Every one who advocates or promotes genocide towards any identifiable group, or every one who communicates statements in any public place that incites or wilfully promotes hatred against any identifiable group.
An identifiable group is any group distinguished by race, colour, religion or ethnic origin.
Remember
It is vital that a Hate Crime be reported to the Police.
If you are a victim or witness to a hate crime the following steps should be taken:
The Toronto Police Service and the community have made a firm commitment to deal with hate crimes.
